UNDERWATER SHOOTOUT IN THE SHALLOW END

UNDERWATER SHOOTOUT IN THE DEEP END

Pool Game

SHALLOW END: HOW TO PLAY
ALL YOU NEED IS GOGGLES,

A GOAL, AND A TRIGGERFISHTM POOL TORPEDO

  1. Place goalposts down one wall, we suggest placing them 5 to 12 feet apart depending on the skill of the players.

  2. Take turns as shooter and goal keeper.  The shooter needs to stay about 8 feet from the wall of the goal.

  3. A "play" consists of the shooter having one to three torpedoes in their hands, and taking shots at the goal to score by hitting the wall behind the goal keeper.

  4. Each torpedo that touches the wall counts as a point.

HOW TO PLAY IN THE DEEP END

A classic two-player shootout game.

DEEP END: SEVEN SIMPLE GAME RULES

  1. Alternate turns as shooter or goalkeeper.

  2. Shooter starts at 12-18 feet (4-6 meters) from the goal, while the goalkeeper starts from within arms-length of the goal.

  3. Play starts when shooter submerges, and on one breath, tries to score.

  4. Play ends if the shooter still holding the torpedo is touched by the goalkeeper.

  5. Play ends if the shooter's face goes above the water surface (but goalkeeper can come up to breathe at any time).

  6. Play ends if the torpedo is thrown from above the water surface.

  7. Score when the torpedo hits the goal area.  To score, the shot must be direct, no rebounds from walls or pool bottom, and no re-throws.

Keep score like tennis: The first to score 4 goals wins, but must win by two..  Or: Use your own house rules.  For example, for a short game, first to score two goals wins.

Typically, about one out of 3 scoring attempts succeeds in scoring.
